    Hi,

    Would it be possible to have excerpts (with the beautiful new thumbnails, of course :-) ) instead of the full posts for search results and the categories pages?

    On a sidenote, would it be possible to add an "Older entries" link such as the ones found in the categories pages for the "Recent Articles"?

    Finally, is there an easy way to add a favicon.ico?

    Thanks a lot!

    The easy way to add a favicon is to just drop it into the root of your site. It takes a while for your browser to pick it up if you've visited the no favicon version before, but it does work.

    Excerpts in categories is fairly easy, but there are a few steps. Make a copy of index.php, name it category.php and open it and replace this code:

    <div class="content">
    <?php
    ob_start();
    the_content('Read the rest of this entry &raquo;');
    $dropcapped = drop_cap(ob_get_contents());
    $plain = ob_get_contents();
    ob_end_clean();

    if ( $mtp_drop_caps == true ) {
    echo $dropcapped;
    } else {
    echo $plain;
    }
    ?>
    <div class="solidline margintop"></div>

    ...with this:

    <div class="content">
    <?php resize_img(125,125); ?>
    <?php the_excerpt('Read More-->'); ?>
    <div class="solidline margintop"></div>

    And you should see the effect you want.

    Not sure what the middle question was about.

    Thanks for the answer.

    It's funny, but the images does not seem to work for me... they are OK on the main page, but they do not appear with your change. Anything I might be missing?

    I have implemented a similar solution for search.php and I have the same image problem.

    Concerning my middle question, I just mean that in a page displaying all posts in a given category, when the list is very long you get after a number of posts an "Older entries" link that links to the rest of the posts of that given category. I was just wondering if it is possible to have a similar link in the "recent articles" list that we can find in the index page.

    Thanks.

    ok, found the bug.

    Your instructions are correct, but you forgot to specify that a line should be add in the new file.

    Indeed, you should add the line:
    $mtp_show_thumbs = get_option(mtp_show_thumbs);

    after those lines:
    $mtp_show_right_sidebar = get_option(mtp_show_right_sidebar);
    $mtp_drop_caps = get_option(mtp_drop_caps);

    Concerning the favicon, I remembered that I am sharing my wordpress installation with another blog, and we do have different favicon, so I guess I will have to add it to the code, as otherwise we will not be able to have different ones. Would you have a better suggestion?

    Thanks.

    I'd also like to know a better option than just dropping it in the root. I did so about a month ago and it still does not show up...

    Is it possible to make this one of the magatheme pro options?

    ignore my last comment... i found a perfect plugin, that shows the favicon. This way i also found out the name of the icon file should be nothing else that "favicon.ico".
